Private Lessons
Course Description
Private Lessons help students of all ages excel in English, improve their GPA, or achieve optimal test scores by receiving one-on-one instruction from teachers who specialize in the student's area of need. Private Lessons can follow the standard curriculum of any Cornerstone Phonics, Academic English, or Test Preparation courses, or they can be tailored to meet the specific goals of the student. For instance, one student may want to take a Test Preparation Private Lesson that focuses on only the Speaking section of the TOEFL exam, while another student may want a Private Lesson dedicated to advising them on their IB Extended Essay or other writing assignments in order to improve their GPA.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Teaching Methodology
During the first session of a Private Lesson, the instructor and student assess the student's individual strengths and weaknesses, identify specific goals, and develop a course of action to achieve those goals. Textbooks and assignments are selected based on the student's skill level and objectives. Whether the student chooses to follow one of Cornerstone's standard curriculums or pursue and independent course of study, the lessons will continuously evolve based on the student's progress and changes in their academic needs.
